More Space Inside, Less Wasted Outside

Swing-out shed doors eat into the space in front of the building every time they open — exactly where you're standing when you're trying to move something in or out. Sliding doors require a clear wall section beside the opening. Roll-up doors eliminate both problems: the curtain travels straight up and coils into a compact housing above the opening, and nothing moves in front of or beside the building.

In a workshop, this matters more than most homeowners expect. The full ceiling height is available for shelving, lighting, a ceiling-mounted bike hoist, or overhead storage. The full opening width is clear with no intermediate posts or door panels blocking access. Large materials, equipment, and vehicles pass through without obstruction.

We install roll-up doors on sheds from single-car to double-bay size across the GTA. For heated workshops, foam-filled insulated profiles reduce heat loss at the door. For off-the-grid storage sheds, manual spring-assist operation is available without any electrical connection.

Benefits

Why Roll-Up for Sheds & Workshops?

Full Ceiling Access

No overhead tracks or hardware. Use your ceiling for shelving, hoists, lighting, or storage without interference.

Wide Opening Clearance

The entire opening is clear when the door is raised. Drive vehicles, move lumber, or roll equipment through without obstruction.

Security

Interlocking slats lock into reinforced side guides. Protects tools, equipment, and materials from theft.

Low Maintenance

Aluminum doesn't rot, warp, or need repainting. Minimal upkeep compared to wood or steel alternatives.

Insulated Options

Foam-filled slats for heated workshops. Retain warmth in winter and reduce condensation on tools and materials.

Motorized or Manual

Motorized operation for daily-use workshops. Manual spring-loaded for occasional-use storage sheds. Both options available.

Product Fit

Recommended Profiles for Sheds & Workshops

Profile choice depends on how the space is used. Storage sheds typically use Standard; heated workshops with valuable tools often benefit from Security Grade.

Common Questions

Shed & Workshop Door FAQ

Yes. Roll-up doors are custom-fabricated to any opening width — from narrow tool shed doors to wide double-bay workshop openings. There's no standard-size limitation. Wide openings use a reinforced curtain and heavier side guides to handle the larger span. We measure the opening on-site and engineer accordingly.
Yes. Foam-filled slat profiles add thermal insulation at the door opening, reducing heat loss in winter and keeping the workshop temperature stable. This is particularly effective in garages and shops heated with a gas unit heater or wood stove, where the door is the largest source of heat loss.
Manual spring-assisted operation is available and works well for sheds and outbuildings that are accessed infrequently. The spring counterbalance makes the door easy to lift and lower by hand. Motorized operation is generally preferred for daily-use workshops where convenience matters.
In most cases, yes. The housing box and side guides mount to the structural frame surrounding the opening — typically the header and side jambs. For older wood-frame structures, we confirm the framing is adequate to support the system before installation. If reinforcement is needed, we address it as part of the installation.
Significantly more secure than standard shed doors, padlocked hasps, or swing-out doors. Interlocking aluminum slats lock into reinforced side guides — forcing entry requires cutting equipment and generates substantial noise. The slat curtain can't be pried or leveraged open from the outside the way most shed doors can.
